Johannsen C°, Makers to the Admiralty, the Indian Government and Royal Navies of Italy, Spain Portugal, 149 Minories London, 9064', circa 1920. Silvered dial, Roman numerals for hours, Arabic numerals for seconds at 6 o'clock, power-reserve indicator at 12 o'clock, blued steel hands; brass movement with plates decorated by tool rotation, fusee with chain, detent escapement beating per half-second, two-arm compensated balance with balance weight, blued steel cylindrical spiral, cylindrical pillars ; brass cylindrical case with gimbal suspension and locking tab; mahogany case with inspection lid, manufacturer's circular plates in bone or ivory, brass handles, corners and hinges.
