Portrait of a raja, North India, Rajasthan, probably Mewar, early 20th century
Gouache and gold on paper depicting a full-length raja facing left. He is dressed in a pink jama with golden flowers and wearing an orange turban with aigrette and curved tip to match his belt. His face is nimbed and he is richly adorned with jewels, some of which are rendered in relief. He holds a flower in his right hand, his talwar in his left and a katar tucked into his belt. Framed
Sight size: 32.5 x 21.5 cm
Some polychromy, small folds and stains.
