Rare Queen Mary of Scotland figure in Bronze on a German base from the 17th century
In bronze, with two gunshot wounds, possibly forming part of the finishing of the grille of a Catholic altar, possibly received during an English raid in the context of the Rough Wooing Wars (known in Spanish as the war of the hard courtship, courtship brutal or English courtship) refers to the two periods of conflict, 1543-46 and 1547-50, between the kingdoms of England and Scotland during the process of Scottish independence. Measurements 33 x 13 x 10 cm. Provenance: formerly part of an important European private collection.
