Ottoman SABRE known as Shamshir, handle with two horn plates, brass mounting, guard with two straight quillons terminated by auricles, curved blade with flat back decorated with gilded calligraphic
gilded calligraphy of Islamic inscriptions, low-title silver scabbard with two rings decorated with plant motifs.
Good condition; old scabbard restoration.
Provenance: descendants of General Changarnier (1793-1877).
