Udaipur/Mewar School of Painting was patronized by the Sisodia Dynasty Rajputs which included districts of Bhilwara, Udaipur and Chittorgarh as well as adjacent parts of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The paintings covered various subjects but became well-known in the field of portraiture. This style was unique in its evolution as a distinct style. These paintings are characterized by confident lines and an earthy palette of colors.
