ALLATING VIRGIN, PARIS, FIRST HALF OF THE 14th CENTURY in ivory carved in the round. Seated on a molded throne bench, Mary presents her right breast to her Son, whom she is holding on her left knee. Her head is crowned by a half-length veil, and she is dressed in a girdled robe and a mantle, one flap of which falls to the front of her knees. (Damage and missing parts) A nursing Virgin ivory sculpture, 14th century HEIGHT 12.50 CM - H. 4.9 IN. Provenance In the same family since the 19th century
