LARGE ARTS ALLEGORY BOX, NAPOLEON III PERIOD
Rectangular, in silvered bronze, decorated on the body, bordered at the top by a ribboned rush and at the bottom by rais-de-cœurs, with friezes of putti in bas-relief representing painting and drawing on the front, Hermes promoting the arts on the top and sculpture on the back; with fluting on the sides. It rests on a molded base with four wide acanthus leaf scrolled feet. The top has an inverted profile with an interlacing reserve and a bindweed branch handle.
With its gilded bronze key with interlaced scrolls in the 17th century style.
