GAMES TABLE BY FERDINAND BURY (1740-1795), LOUIS XVI PERIOD
in mahogany, mahogany veneer and speckled mahogany decorated with reserve frames, featuring simulated drawers on both sides. It stands on fluted tapered legs, ringed with bronze at the top and terminating in roulette shoes. The removable top, decorated with a chessboard on one side and felt on the other, reveals a trictrac game in ebony, bone and stained bone, and four flap-opening compartments.

Ferdinand Bury received Master in 1774
Ferdinand Bury (1740-1795) established his workshop after obtaining his Master's degree.
In addition to creating striking pieces in marquetry, mahogany and yellow wood, Bury distinguished himself by making system furniture such as mechanical tables, rack pedestals, knitting machines, cubbyholes and secret chests. He relied mainly on German craftsmen, experts in this type of work. Ferdinand Bury's reputation was built on the meticulous care he lavished on his creations, which earned him considerable success.
