KATAR Dagger from the Indian continent. 19th century. It is characterized by its horizontal H-shaped handle, which places the blade in front of the knuckles, making it the most famous and characteristic of Indian daggers. Used in combat, it had a thicker, diamond-shaped tip designed to lift breastplates and rendered chain mail ineffective. Also used in hand-to-hand combat with tigers, both for protection and for hunting attacks. Good condition but would benefit from cleaning.
Dim.: 45 cm.
