TRABERT & HOEFFER et MAUBOUSSIN Beautiful Tank-type ladies' wristwatch in yellow gold (585) and platinum (850) in the form of a belt buckle. Flared rectangular case, with hinged dial cover, bordered and centered by two lines of cabochon-set sugar loaf sapphires and a line of brilliant-cut diamonds in bezel-setting. Matte gold-backed dial, signed T-H & M, with applied Arabic numerals and dotted hour markers. Hand-wound mechanical movement, signed BLANCPAIN RAYVILLE SA. Hinged caseback numbered 300449. Tubogaz-style articulated bracelet, clasp punctuated with three rail-set sapphires on a half-ring paved with half-cut diamonds in a grained setting. Circa 1945-50. Case size: 38 x 22 mm. Gross weight: 62.2 g. - Length: 20 cm. Wear and scratches, chips, clasp system to be revised. In 1936, the two houses began a collaboration that produced jewelry inspired by classic French chic, primarily for the American market. Americans Randolph J. Trabert and William Howard Hoeffer had founded their company 10 years earlier, so they benefited from Mauboussin's prestige, while Mauboussin benefited from the young American label's New York showcase.
