The first collection of poems by M. Tsvetaeva published in emigration: 'Verses that are difficult to write and impossible to read.' Written in Moscow and addressed to her husband, Sergei Efron, whose fate Tsvetaeva had no reliable information about after the defeat of the Volunteer Army. The edition was banned and withdrawn from circulation in the USSR.
