Alexander Porfiryevich Archipenko (1887-1964) was a Ukrainian and American sculptor and artist. One of the major representatives of Cubism in sculpture. In 1910, he exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants alongside Exter, Malevich, Picasso, Braque, Derain, and others. In 1923, he moved to the USA. In 1934, he designed the Ukrainian pavilion at the Chicago World's Fair. In the USA, Archipenko's work consistently attracted interest – over forty years, he held more than 150 solo exhibitions.
