Depiction of a forest path on the left side of the painting, large chestnut tree in the centre, behind it a woman looking up at the treetops. On the right side of the painting, a river flows into the distance. Buildings can be surmised there. A mountainous backdrop rises on the horizon. Scaly application of paint, canvas not sufficiently stretched. Signed "Lenk" in the centre.
