On the reverse by one hand in pencil, presumably the artist himself: "Ernst Liebermann / München / Kapelle / Schrauben nur in dickes Holz". In another hand, also in pencil: "Prinzessin Marita [überklebt]". Labelled "Marie-Alexandra Barton-Miller" on the reverse.
On the reverse by a third hand, in dark oil crayon "EiLi 1942".
Signed and dated lower right.

Known provenance: Object comes from the estate of Marie Alexandra Princess of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (1927-2000) married to Douglas Barton-Miller (born 1929).
