Development of the second-generation Golf began 4 years after the launch of the first generation. More spacious and modern, this second generation subtly evolved the car's lines, while carefully preserving the elements that had made it a success.
Launched in 1983, the GTI only appeared a year later. The conservatism adopted for styling was the same for technology. In fact, the first Golf 2 models retained the engine that had made the first generation such a success. In 1985, the styling was slightly revised to make it more sporty, in response to the competition's increasingly impressive body kits.
This is one of them. Delivered in November 1985, it spent almost its entire life in Spain. Well equipped, it is in good overall condition.
In recent years, the paintwork, cylinder head, camshaft, valves, timing gear and clutch have all been replaced.
