Decorated in gold hiramaki-e with four phoenixes in flight alternating with three paulownia trees, symbols of the Empress, on a background of needle-like motifs emanating from the birds' wings; the reverse, with vertical poly-lobed edges, is decorated with a phoenix in flight and a motif of paulownia flowers and leaves on a nashiji background.
