[Protestantism]. AUGUSTES (LES) et fidèles amours du haut et puissant cavallier le fort Louys avec la belle et noble Rochelle. Ensemble les articles portant les conventions de leur contract de mariage. A Fontenay, chez Pierre Petit-Ian Imprimeur, 1625. Small in-8 (h = 132 mm.), [8]-123 f., 18th c. mottled havana calf, 5-ribbed spine, red title page, ornate caissons, red edges (browning at beginning, slight soiling, f. 17 to 24 replaced by handwritten copies at time of binding). Very rare single edition of this work published a few years before the siege of La Rochelle (1627-1628) ordered by Louis XIII and led by Richelieu. The introductory pages contain an "Epitre à Messieurs les Rochelois" by "Le Secrétaire de Bon-Espoir". Provenance: old signature on v° of title (Crozat?); bibliographical annotations on endpapers and ms. bookplate. B. Fillon, 1871; A.
