(of which 3 pl.), 678 p., [15 (of 17)] f., figs, period speckled tan calf, 6-rib spine decorated, title, gilt fillets and fleurons, double gilt fillet bordering the covers, gilt arms in the centers, marbled edges, spine and corners restored (epidermures to the covers; light flecking to the corner of the title-front. and to the very last f., margin restored p.337, moderate browning and russeting; 2 f. missing at end, but tables and index complete).
The first work in which hatching was uniformly used to express enamels and metals. Illustrated with a title-frontispiece engraved by F. Greuter after F. Romanelli, an engraved portrait of Th. Barberini, an unsigned frontispiece with the Barberini coat of arms, and numerous figures of arms engraved in the text.
