LE MUET (Pierre). Manière de bien bastir pour toutes sortes de personnes... A Paris, chez F. Jollain, 1681. 2 parts in 1 vol. in-folio, [1] f., 11 p., [75] f., [32] f., period speckled tan calf, 6-nerved spine, gilt title, ornate caissons, gilt roulette on the edges, red speckled edges (binding rubbed, corners dulled, tail cap uncovered, lower jaw split, a nick on the lower cover crosses the last 10 plates, not serious).
New enlarged edition of this work originally published in 1623. The last and most complete edition, it was reprinted by Jombert in the early 18th century.
Most of the work is engraved on copperplate, and is divided into two parts. The first part begins with a title-frontispiece and comprises 75 plates, of which 34 are full-page engravings, 20 are mid-page figures accompanied by explanatory texts, and 21 are texts. The second part also begins with an engraved title and comprises 31 plates, 14 of which are double-page spreads and 8 fold-outs.
