First edition of this important treatise by the architect C.-E. Briseux (c. 1680-1754), and his principal work, describing the principles of construction and decoration established in the tradition of François Blondel. It includes a frontispiece and 260 copper-engraved plates that perfectly illustrate the characteristics of the Louis XV style, particularly in terms of interior decoration.
