RIBIÈRE (Hippolyte). Essai sur l'histoire de l'imprimerie dans le département de l'Yonne et spécialement à Auxerre... Auxerre, Impr. Perriquet, 1858. In-8, [2] f., 378 p., red morocco, 5-ribbed spine, author, title, place and date gilt, compartments and boards framed with a double cold fillet, double gilt fillet on edges and headpieces, roulettes and triple gilt fillet on chasses, edges gilt [Capé] (very light stains on boards, spine a little browned, one corner mq. in margin p.99). First edition of this work, the second part of which contains a Catalogue des livres, brochures et pièces imprimés à Auxerre de 1580 à 1857, and which forms Volume X, Part 2, of the Bulletin des sciences historiques et naturelles de l'Yonne. It is illustrated with two lithographed plates by A. Ramard et Perriquet in Auxerre, showing a 2-page specimen of the book printed in Chablis by Pierre Le Rouge in 1478, and the marks of the printers Pierre Le Rouge and Jean Savine. A precious copy offered by the author to Léon de Bastard d'Estang (1822-1860), historian, archaeologist and collector, who had a critical review of the book inserted at the end, which he published in the journal Constitution in October 1858. At the beginning of the volume is an autograph letter signed by the author (3 p. in-8°) in which he thanks Bastard d'Estang for this review. Autograph signed ex-dono from the author to the same addressee.
