Alexander Alexandrovich AVTONOMOV (1884-1938) The Hall of Armor , illustrated by Georguiy Semyonovich VEREISKI (1886-1962) and with his dedication on the title page, addressed to the son of Hermitage researcher F.F. Nothafft, Andrei F. Nothafft: To my dear Andriouche, from G. Vereïski who loves him so much . Published by the Hermitage in Leningrad, 1924. 42 illustrated pages, also the cover. Very good condition, uncut copy. G. Vereïski was curator of the Prints Department at the Hermitage Museum in Leningrad from 1918 to 1930. Provenance: Paula Renée Nothafft (née Kaestlin), first wife of Fyodor Fyodorovich Nothafft, art lover and collector, Hermitage researcher and founder of the Aquilon publishing house. Paula Nothafft was made famous by painter B.M. Kustodiev's portrait of her; in 1923, she left Soviet Russia for Switzerland with her son Andrei, who would later become a major industrialist.
