Attributed to PIERRE DARIEL (France).
Hendaye bench, ca. 1930's.
Beech and oak.
Back and seat made of rattan grating.
Measurements: 76 x 120 x 65 cm.
Bench whose design is attributed to Pierre Dariel, a French cabinetmaker and designer who specialized in outdoor seating. He worked in collaboration with the designer and architect Robert Mallet-Steven (Paris, 1886-1945). This is a piece of furniture with a daring design for the time, based on geometric lines, looking for the contrast between straight and curved lines. The structure is made of beech and oak. The seat and backrest (folding) are made of grille.
