The Fruit Mama fruit bowl by Stefano Giovannoni for Alessi was designed in 1993 with stainless steel base and green polyamide basket. A hugely successful design and Giovannoni's first for Alessi, it was created as part of the Family Follows Fiction project, which exploded expectations about the shapes of a large number of objects in the domestic landscape.
Born in La Spezia, Stefano Giovannoni is an architect and designer. He was a student of Buti at the University of Florence. In the early 1980s, he founded the King-Kong Production group with Guido Venturini. His projects, starting with the Girotondo tray (1989, designed with Guido Venturini), are articulated in a wide genealogy of objects in production in the catalogs of Officina Alessi, Alessi and A di Alessi.
