CHARLES PFISTER (USA, 1939-1990) for KNOLL. Pair of bucket chairs. Black upholstery. Measurements: 66 x 83 x 83 cm. These cube-shaped armchairs by Charles Pfister for Knoll are characterized by balanced proportions and details meticulously created to achieve a subtle elegance. Trained in Architecture at the University of California, Charles Pfister worked in the interior design department of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill for 15 years. It was during this period that he created the Pfister Lounge Collection for Knoll, whose production began in 1971. His projects include the Royal Dutch Shell headquarters in The Hague, the public spaces of Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, the Citicorp headquarters in London and the United Overseas Bank in Singapore.
