PIERANGELO CARAMIA (1957) for ALESSI. Water pitcher and teapot "Penguin", ca. 1990's. Stainless steel and plastic. Measurements: 21 cm. height. Water pitcher and teapot set with a stylized penguin-inspired design. Designer and architect Pierangelo Caramia graduated from the University of Florence in 1984 and earned a master's degree in design (urban scenography) at the Domus Academy in Milan in 1986. Since then, Caramia has worked in many countries, from Italy to France and Japan, and for many different companies. He has designed commercial spaces, office buildings, street lighting and cafés in Paris and New York, as well as restoring buildings. In 1990 he began teaching architecture and design at the Ecole Supérieure Européenne d'Art de Bretagne Rennes and since 2007 he has been teaching at the Ecole Supérieure d'Art Moderne in Paris. The teapot, called 'Penguin', was produced in a limited edition.
