Jarrón "Cong" con vidriado azul, dinastía Qing, con sello Xianfeng
Vase "cong" of square plan, arranged on a short circular foot. It has a stylized body, adorned by two lateral handles arranged in the upper area in the form of an elephant's head holding a fixed ring. Crowned by a low neck and a circular mouth.
The piece is covered by a glaze of intense sapphire color, slightly thinner on the edges where it allows the white color of the porcelain to show through. With six-character seal "大清咸丰年制" arranged on the base in underglaze blue.
Measures: 29 x 13,5 x 13,5 cm; Mouth diameter: 9 cm.
Provenance:
- European private collection, France. Acquired by the present owner in 1981 in Toulouse, from the private collection of Mr. Gerard Pasquier. Attached is a photograph of the period.
