Figura de jade de Hetian "Peces, niños y lotos", dinastía Qing
A superbly carved light-colored Hetian jade figure with soft reddish flecks. It shows a scene full of dynamism, composed of beautiful mandarin fish and carp swimming in an agitated way, surrounded by small and cheerful children climbing among elongated flowering lotus branches and sinuous waves. A large fish is arranged on the right side, with its mouth open and its body covered with detailed scales, partially covered by the blooming lotus branches, from which small children climb happily, as if it were a game. On the left side are two other smaller fish, one of them with a long curled tongue, swimming dynamically among the high curved waves.
The rare joint appearance of a mandarin fish and a carp is a symbol of prosperity and wealth in Chinese culture.
