Botella de rapé de ámbar, dinastía Qing
Carved amber snuff bottle. It has the shape of a vase with a flat profile, elongated and rounded body, which narrows at the neck, ending in a circular mouth. It is adorned by two handles arranged at the height of the neck, in the shape of the head of an enraged mythical beast, with open jaws from which half a ring comes out and completes the handle.
The bottle shows on the edge of the mouth, two decorative borders of banana leaves and geometric spirals, followed by two other borders, located at the height of the shoulders, of auspicious symbols "shou" and small ruyis. The body is carved on both sides, representing on one of them a small pond with sinuous waves and large flowering lotuses; and on the other, a beautiful tree with a thick trunk and flowering branches. It shows patina due to aging. Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1912).
