Large fired ceramic tile with a concave and elongated shape, covered with a rich green glaze.
At the top, it depicts a foo lion, an animal frequently represented in Chinese culture, with an erect and firm posture. The head, covered by a luxuriant mane formed by small scrolls, shows an intense expression, with large open eyes looking straight ahead, wide muzzle and closed mouth from which emerge two sharp fangs. The body, adorned with incised details, shows the hind legs bent and the front legs stretched and straight, looking straight ahead. The tail covers part of the back, pointing upwards.
The glossy glaze extends across the piece without reaching the inside of the piece, revealing the characteristic ochre color of the pottery at the base, where an ancient label is attached. Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1912).
