I still have a compliment to pay you for the second exam, and I give it to you from the bottom of my heart. Today is your birthday, which I wish you from the bottom of my heart. You are 16 today, which is a very respectable age, and one which I hope will force you to give up childish things. Adieu dear friend, bon voyage again, think of me a few times, I kiss you with all my heart (...)".
