In the form of a Kovch, carved from a block of translucent Bowenite, mounted in vermeil, the socket is adorned with a gold coin in the profile of Empress Catherine II (dated 1776) enameled on one side in translucent red on a guilloché ground of vertical waves, and set with a cabochon sapphire surrounded by two diamond roses, the whole resting on a pedestal base chased with gadroons. Good condition.

Goldsmith's hallmark:K. Fabergé, K.F., and mark of imperial privilege.
