Biography: Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg was the most important painter of the Danish Golden Age. A young pupil of David, he remained faithful to Neoclassicism. "The Nathanson Family" is one of the most striking of his works at the National Gallery of Denmark. Our enlarged academic copy of the painting's 2 main characters, the Mother and the Eldest Daughter. This monumental pose offers a powerful vision in expression, posture and color.
