Antoine CAPITANI (1993-2012) 2013 013 Date 2010-2011 Silkscreen 75 x 60 cm ANTOINE CAPITANIwas born in Arles in 1993. Curious about the arts from an early age very early on, he developed a particular sensitivity to drawing, which became both his passion and his refuge when his dyslexia and dyspraxia dyslexia and dyspraxia disrupted his schooling. Enrolled in an art studio in Arles, he kept up his sketchbooks and maintained a lively correspondence, notably with architect Patrick Bouchain. After college, he attended Eagle Hill School in the United States, where his his artistic abilities were immediately noticed and strongly encouraged, leading to a veritable creative frenzy. After being selected to attend art school in Boston the following summer, he took his own life on the night of February 7-8, 2012. Today, artists and art specialists including Pierre Alechinsky, François Halard, Alberto Manguel, Chris Dercon and Bernard Blistène, are increasingly recognizing the value of the work he left behind.
