Claudine Drai lives and works in Paris. A visual artist, Claudine Drai's subjects have always been the relationship between matter and immatter, drawing and sculpture, trace and diaphanous, appearance and disappearance.
This work takes up the iconography of birds, a subject she deals with on a recurring basis. Using tissue paper, she creates a flying couple that seems to detach from the canvas in delicate bas-relief. This ensemble is reminiscent of Les Ailes du Désir, a film by her friend Wim Wenders.
