This sculpture of minimalist aesthetics and exquisite technique, combines two apparently irreconcilable traditions: it is affiliated, on the one hand, with the art of constructivist roots, such as Art Deco and conceptual art, and on the other hand, it establishes a modern wink with the millenary tradition of opus sectile, of Mesopotamian origin (and popular in Roman and Byzantine art). A perfect sphere has been constructed by combining small tesserae of different marbles, resulting in contrasting textures and marbling. The ball, which suggests the terrestrial orb or an unknown planet, rests in a single point and perfect balance on a square volume, worked with alternating slabs of different types of marble. The combination of natural stones and pure forms that refer to perfection symbolically summons the innate energies of the materials.
