Raoul DUFY. Le Havre 1877 - Forcalquier 1953. French painter. Autograph letter signed, on the letterhead of the Bibliothèque-musée de la guerre of the Ministère de l'Instruction publique et des beaux-arts, of which he had just been appointed curator. The letter is dated February 11, 1918 and addressed to his painter and sculptor friend, Luc-Albert Moreau, in which he congratulates himself on the acquisition of a drawing by his friend, depicting the Douaumont fort. The letter is accompanied by a later autograph bill of thanks, on September 1, 1938, to his friend Luc-Albert Moreau and his wife, the violinist Hélène Jourdan- Morhange.
