"200 tableaux aujourd'hui".
After May 1968, the artist embarked on a series of paintings of the Parisian "Spectacle de la rue". He depicts the Cirque d'hiver, the emblematic vespasiennes, the lovers and booksellers of the quays of the Seine. The Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris is currently organizing a retrospective of the artist's work until August 5, 2024. A canvas from the series La ville est un songe, "Metro" (95 x 65 cm), is on view in this exhibition, and recalls the tonal palette of our work. From this work, in 1972, the artist produced a series of 150 color lithographs entitled "Le couple".
