IBIS STATUETTE The animal is represented lying down, the body carved in wood, the bronze legs cast separately and the head inserted into the body, with a bronze tail section, the legs bent with tenons underneath and long talons, with a sinuous shape. Curved neck and beak, incised feather details on legs and tail. Wood and bronze. 21 x 32 cm Egypt, Late Period-Ptolemaic period, 664-30 B.C.
