Attributed to Willem Wissing, Dutch 1656-1687- Portrait of a young boy in classical dress, seated in a landscape and playing with a lamb; oil on canvas, 112.5 x 89.5 cm. Note: The present work, a full-length portrait of a boy in Classical dress, imbued with a gravity and authority which belies his young age, is typical of Wissing's paintings, bearing a striking resemblance to the artist's portrait of 'the Hon. William Cecil as a Boy' in the collection of Burghley House [PIC514].
