Henry Bernard Chalon,
British 1770-1849-
Portrait of a black and white greyhound in a landscape;
oil on canvas, signed and dated 'H.B. Chalon pinxt / 1814' (lower right), 33 x 45.8 cm.
Provenance:
Private Collection, UK.
Note:
Chalon was a prominent sporting, equestrian, and animal painter, serving as Animal Painter first to Federica, Duchess of York (1767-1820) in 1795, and later to the Prince Regent (1762-1830) and King William IV (1765-1837).
