Note:
Harrison was a prolific painter of ornithological subjects, with his tendency to depict birds in flight imparting his works with a striking sense of movement and vitality. Harrison's works were often informed by his extensive travels, particularly his journeys to Scotland, where he regularly went with his friend, the naturalist Seton Gordon (1886-1977), in order to study golden eagles. Harrison's illustrations of these birds can be seen in Seton Gordon's 'Days with the Golden Eagle' of 1927.
