Beautiful 18th-century court sword, triangular blade with three hollow sides still retaining the gilding highlighting the inlays and water blue. Superb chased cast silver mounting, rounded pommel decorated with feasting figures. A single branch guard decorated with an Antique-style bust. The guard arm is swallowed by a watch head at the guard escutcheon and spat out by the same monster on the other side in the form of a forward-arched quillon. Side escutcheon decorated with putti, donkey steps, symmetrical bivalve pierced with figures seated amid foliage. Polished, scratched and cylindrically carved stag-wood buttstock. No scabbard.
