1657 Canale di Serino - 1747 Barra/Naples. Descended from the Solimena family of artists, his father was a pupil of Francesco Guarino. Active in Naples, Genoa, Venice and among others at the Spanish court. Oil on canvas. The apparition of Our Lady with the Infant Jesus flanked by the founders of the order Francis of Assisi and Benedict of Nursia, surrounded by putti on a cloud base. Design for a ceiling painting.
