Engraved illustrated title page, 121 engraved maps of ports and harbours, table of contents at end. First edition. Important cartographic work on the Mediterranean, the most important and complete of the time. Intended for navigators, it contains detailed plans of the main ports of the Mediterranean, with the different sea beds, any moorigns, the nature of the seabeds, as well as the cities, fortifications, citadels, arsenals and lighthouses. Each map has a scale in leagues, toises or miles of Provence. The work ends with an alphabetical table (2 pages recto verso), in which the names of Alicante, Algiers, Alexandria, Barcelona, Cadix, Collioure, Calvi, Corfu, Gibraltar, Genoa, Livorno, Malaga, Malta appear in particular, Marseille, Naples, Oran, Porto-Vecchio, Palermo, Tangier, Tripoli, and Venice. In addition to the passage between Corsica and Sardinia, it contains that of the Dardanelles, as well as various maps of islands (of the Gulf of Venice, Sainte Maure). The work ends with an alphabetical table (2 pages recto verso), in which the names of the places depicted in the maps appear.
