10 volumes in 8vo. 250x180 mm. Double-sided squeezebox volumes. Original bindings in decorated paper, each adorned with a printed label on covers. Fine copy.
Rare firts edition. Work richly illustrated with polychrome woodcuts, some with coloring stencil. An amazing collection of traditional Japanese textile designs. Important publication printed by the Unsodo publishing house, which masterfully documents the role of the most refined graphic arts in textile production in Japan.Founded by Yamada Naosaburo in 1891, Unsodo is dedicated to the publication of books intended for the artisanal arts of textiles, lacquer and ceramics. His catalog includes the famous Nomoyogusa [Flowers of a Hundred Worlds] by Kamisaka Sekka, 1901-1910, and Seiho ippin shu [Collection of Seihō's Masterwoorks] by Takeuchi Seiho, 1937-1942. Rare work: only a few incomplete copies in public collections, notably at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Columbia University Library and the Princeton University Library.
