Two collection stamps: H. K. Lempertz Collection, Lugt 1337; Robert Udny Collection, Lugt 2248. Good condition. The drawing shows the vision of an important altarpiece, probably to be performed on commission from a monastery. Above the Madonna and Child, a little further down, on both sides, two saints, in the background a crowd of monks and saints. At the center of the scene is a splendid perspective view of a city in central Italy. The design was part of two authoritative collections, to which Lugt dedicates flattering notes.
