In 1938, the first R 66 appeared to replace the R 17.
This marked the end of the stamped sheet metal frame, and a return to the tubular frame with double cradle.
This displacement was chosen because it corresponds to the 2nd category reserved for Sidecars in Germany, the 600s, the first being the 1000s.
It also features the all-new sliding rear suspension.
The bike has been beautifully restored.
