China, 18th century,
Large white porcelain basin, slightly celadonized, decorated in underglaze blue and iron red, with a fortified city surrounded by luxuriant vegetation, on the banks of a lake with fishermen on boats, villagers, craftsmen surrounded by dwellings. Some pavilions bear calligraphic inscriptions on their fronts, describing well-known "places", including the representation of the Prince Teng Pavilion located in the city of Nanchang in Jiangxi province, the Temple of the Three Saints, the Zangjiang Gate.
The interior is decorated with three carps among aquatic plants and other fish around the perimeter.
Chips around the rim, through-hole crack inside.
