[de SAINT-BLAISE family - CHAMPAGNE - LORRAINE]. Set of two bound manuscripts on vellum relating to Jacques de SAINT-BLAISE (spelled Sainct-Blaize), seigneur de Changy, de Troissy and seigneur de Domremy and his wife Catherine de Dampmartin. 1538 and 1546.
35.5 x 47 cm and 88 x 55 cm. Red wax stamp on preserved parchment stem. Very good condition.
The 1546 document comes from "Guillaume Ruzé [...] advisor to the Hault and powerful Duke of Guise, peer of France, Count of Aumalle, Baron of Joinville, Seneschal General of Champagne", i.e. CLAUDE DE LORRAINE or Claude de Guise (1496-1550). Signed "Grenonville". The second document is from Monseigneur le bailli de Nancy et Metz, "pardevant Monseigneur le bailli de Chaumont", etc. Signed "Dicart". Singé "Dicart". Mention of a lawsuit; dame Anne de Neufchâtel (Neufchastel, mother of Catherine de Dommartin)), Jehan de La Marche, Guillaume de Dompmartin, Jacques de Saint-Blaise, etc.
